Roberto Paolini, aka PITHOS, born in 1986, has always lived in Cerveteri, near Rome, one of the main cities of the Etruscan city.

Cerveteri hosted one of the largest ancient populations, the Etruscans.

Thanks to the many testimonies that they have left, Roberto Paolini immediately became passionate about the history of his city.

As a child he used to stroll around the famous necropolis of Banditaccia, where time seems to stop. He also loved to visit the museum of his country to admire the wonderful artifacts, especially ceramics, which have been found over time.

At the age of 12 he began attending the workshop of an elderly local craftsman, who has been faithfully reproducing ancient objects for some time with very special techniques.

From here begins a journey to discover and experiment with these techniques, which will lead him after more than 20 years to reach very high levels in the artistic reproduction of Greek and Etruscan ceramics.

Each object is created by him using techniques and raw materials that can be traced back as closely as possible to those used in ancient times by master potters.

Roberto Paolini researches the materials in nature to create clayey mixtures, paints and brushes identical to those used historically, in order to obtain a result faithful to the time.

His great professionalism and historical preparation led him to important collaborations with major national and international museums, including the Capitoline Museums in Rome.

On the occasion of an exhibition at the Roman Museum, he created historical reproductions specifically designed for a tactile path for the blind.
